What is Classroom Management?
Classroom management is one of the most challenging aspects of teaching, and without effective management strategies, both student learning and teacher well-being are compromised (Goldman et al., 2022). Effective classroom management encompasses more than just discipline; it includes the pedagogical approaches and teaching methods employed during classroom activities, the cultivation of a positive classroom culture, and the arrangement of the physical environment (Alasmari & Althaqafi, 2024). Additionally, successful classroom management is grounded in fostering strong relationships and creating an environment where all students feel a sense of belonging, regardless of their differences (Kinney & ASCD, 2021).
As teachers, we should aim to shape our students' minds through love, kindness, patience, gentleness, and self-control, while also holding them accountable for their actions (Effective classroom management for Christian teachers, 2024). Effective classroom management requires teachers to consider the whole student, not just their behavior or cognitive development (Effective classroom management for Christian teachers, 2024). By exercising our authority with humility and love, we can encourage our students to take on challenges, offering them the necessary support while maintaining effective classroom management (How to love your students through classroom management, 2024).
